On the other end of the 4 square pieces I cut sides off.
The first cut is done 1/2" to the right of the round drilled hole edge. Cut a 45° cut of about 1/8 deep. The second picture below shows the next cut which will meet this angle cut.
Next do the other side the same leaving 2 welding tabs on each piece for securing these swivel ends to the cross tubes.
